Difference in Spk Plgs

anybody know the difference between a N-12Y and a
RN12YC?

Had some brand new champions RN12yc and they cause
engine to sound like its coming apart... pre ignition,
just got it figured out after pullin rod bearings and
lookin at stuff... new oil pump while I was at it..

Looks like I'm gonna need a good CD150 while I'm at
it.. :-(
