I'm going to make a few assertions and invite anyone to correct me. Please!

1. Single rail and late 3-rail transmissions had a laygear with 15-15-21-26-29
teeth.

2. Close ratio transmissions could be special ordered sometimes and the
laygear had 15-15-20-24-26 teeth.

3. Near the end of production, an attempt to improve reverse was made. The
reverse idler gear was changed from 21 teeth to 17 teeth. This required a
modified 1st/2nd hub outer gear and a modified laygear with 13 teeth for the
reverse idler.

4. The modified reverse was available in the standard transmission and the
close ratio transmission.

5. A laygear with 15-15-21-26-29 teeth fit the late 3-rail transmissions and a
laygear with 15-15-21-25-29 teeth fit the single rail transmission, or
vice-versa.
