A friend of mine, in fact THE friend who introduced me to the joys of Triumphs 
many years ago, had the nearside vertical link snap on a Herald 13/60 at 
70+mph, in the outside lane of the M4. The road was newly resurfaced and he cut 
a nice big gouge all the way into the hard shoulder.......
