Tis so tempting to say something about reading a little more carefully there...

He is asking about the engine, not simply the head. No where did he said he
knows it's a 1500, quite the opposite in fact. So lets see about helping him
identify his engine, head and all. When he gets back to us with the serial
number from the block, we can proceed. He may well have a 1300 in there
instead.

Yes on top the block...but left rear not right front.
The block ID is not his problem. He knows it's a 1500.
He's trying to figure out the head.
