You have to watch out unplugging hozes etc. If it could potentails give you
extra performance, you will loose way more than the power you would gain
over stock, from your stock rating by disconnecting it and not having it
thourly checked on a dynamo.

For example, the UK car has this engin breather hoze. If I remove it I
loose a lot of power it seems like 30 BHP from the regular 71.

The carbon canisters are to store up all the fumes when the car is sitting,
then when the air is sucked out buy the carbs the fumes evaporate and get
burnt in the engin. They proberbly account for almost 0.25 BHP loss from a
propely setup plain system, so getting rid of them is probebly a bad thing.

Basicly, you need to make shure your emmissions hozes are good with no
vachume leaks which will effect performance. Usualy this stuff can include
makeing it look nice.

Concentrate on the other emmissions stuff on the car, like accidently
fitting the UK distributer and 9:1 pistons. These things were choked by
emmissions but you need to look at things other than the evapoation controll
system to find the culpret. The single ZS is the cheaf suspect. A nice
pair of SU HS4's would be better.
