I saw this trick on "Extreme Machines". It was used by drivers of highly
customized 4wheel drive trucks driving across the (Ant)Arctic -

With the tire mounted and free of air, spray a flamable liguid/gas (like
hairspray, I guess) into the tire and ignite it when there is
enough(?).  The explosion presses the tires onto the rim. I personally
would prefer to take it to the corner gas station! :) (Please - don't
try this!)

This doesn't address the issue of getting the tire on/off the rim,
however.
