I drove my '72 Vega for two weeks before the combination wrench (Craftsman)
eventually worked it's way out from between the fender and firewall,
bouncing off the bottom of the car a time or two, so I would know to stop
and pick it up.

If it's any consolation, John, that's how I managed to lose my old 1/2"
ratchet as well. Had it stuck in my hip pocket when I shinnied under a car
to pull something, and it apparently fell out. Didn't take more than 30
steps before I missed it, but it was gone when I got back.
