I took your advice and have been reading ford-trucks. They had all of the
specific
mechanical procedures that I needed but shop-talk, specifically Randall,
had better
information on air conditioning. Check the link he provided

I'm going to study the part on r12 and the ozone layer for dinner table
conversation with
my big brained brother inlaw. I'll understand more in a couple of days.
I had the Bronco towed to my house today, and by the end of the day UPS
delivered
a leak down tester, and the US mail delivered a Chilton's manual. The
Bronco seems
to start and drive just fine while reshuffling my (sob!) seven cars around
so I can keep my
usual 4 or 5 projects going (never finished).
By the receipts I looked at, this thing has had a lot of electrical
problems. It's been a
long time since I've attempted to diagnose and repair a vehicle like a real
mechanic. Most of my stuff has been totally trashed so I've never had find
a problem
that needed fixing. Usually everything needed to be done.
