David, are you sure that you can't make it for your own use?

I thought that was the loophole that meant you can burn copies of CDs and
DVDs.

I'm no lawyer (and I don't want to be) so I could be wrong.

Nope.  The patent covers all uses; you're merely unlikely to get sued,
both because they're unlikely to find out, and the actual loss is
 small.
