First of all, a big thank you to everyone who responded to my recent
fastener thread. Michael Porter and Martin Evans figured out what fastener
it was so I should be well on my way to getting the rest of that SU carb
apart.

Next question, last fall I contracted with a local firm to install a
complete forced air HVAC system in my 50 year old house. I was away all of
last week, which coincidently was the when the weather began to get warmer
and they started work on the new system. I got home yesterday afternoon,
and they installed quite a bit of duct work, but I can't figure out why they
installed each of the register openings perpendicular to the axis of the
adjacent walls. Quick picture of the installation on one of the walls...

I can't figure out why you would want to blow 50% of the air coming through
the duct at the wall itself, epecially a wall whose overall area is about
70% glass window and door space. The cieling joists are wide enough to
accomodate either orientation of the duct, so I can't see that as the
reason.

Hoping to have my house completely finished by July (tearing down old
paneling, new drywall everywhere, new insulation in all walls, upgraded
electrical, new kitchen, etc.). I'm 50% finished the drywall and insulation
in the house, and mostly done the electrical, so I'm moving right along.
Then onto building a suitable sized shop out back!

Thanks!

Kai
