I've pulled down the makeshift front wall on my barn, and I'm going to
build a new one from concrete blocks.

Wall will be 30' wide, about 10' high. The wall will have some big home
made swinging doors (probably wood with a steel frame) at one end,
taking up about 12' of the wall. One door will be mounted directly on
the portal frame, theother on the end of the wall.

I'm not sure how best to tie the wall into the existing barn because it
will butt up to the steel upright part of the portal. I was thinking of
welding strips of metal to the upright that I set into the rows of
mortar. Any good?

One of the doors will hang off the other end of the wall (about 15 or so
feet away from the steel upright). I'm a bit concerned that the weight
of the door might want to pull the wall over. Is there a good way to tie
the wall into the concrete slab as well so its supported along 2 edges?
Or will the mortar make a strong enough bond wiuth the floor to hold it?

Hope that makes sense...

Cheers,

Conrad
