I think the links Larry has posted are right on the money.  I've had several
engines (not the Jeep 6)with similar problems, blowby past the rings forces
oil mist out what should be the fresh air intake for the crankcase.  The
problem is very load dependent, my Dodge Caravan for instance can blow a
quart of oil in just a few minutes if I keep the throttle floored that long,
or go a whole tank on less than a quart if I'm careful to keep my foot out
of it (and drive the speed limit).

In addition to the work those articles suggest, you may want to check that
the PCV vacuum source through the intake manifold is clear.  On some
engines, it can accumulate crud and become partially blocked, which
aggravates the problem.
