The best "Extreme Garage " I 've seen was in El Paso Texas. The guys wife
got upset with the yard being full of cars and not being able to park her
car in the garage, so he bought a vacant lot just down the street to build
his perfect garage.
Well a lawyer who lived across the street contested him building a
commercial garage in a residential zone. The guy pointed out that it was not
commercial but only for his personal use . The city denied his building
permit ruling that a 4000 sq foot garage was "commercial " even if used only
for "personal' use.
He ended up building a house on the lot. One bedroom, kitchen, living room
and .....yes a 4000 sq foot "Hobby room.
What was so neat was the Hobby Room was totally finished like the rest of
the house but housed his shop equipment and his collection of 14 MGs and
spare parts .
The clincher was he was 72 years old at the time he built the " Hobby House
"

Bob Nogueira

PS: He DID have a three car garage included to his Hobby House.
