Thanks for that link!  Reading it, and its attachments, has done more
to convince me that PVC is not a good way run shop air.  Especially
the statements by PVC pipe manufacturers advising against it.

has several 'official' comments, including several that imply PVC may be
used for compressed gases if an appropriate shatter-proof shield is used.
