The video made by Pergo specifically tells you to use water and vinegar
to mop up the leftover glue residue after you're done. I did, and
nothing bad happened to the floor. The TV ad that showed the art
brushes falling on the floor said to clean up the mess with "a mop,
slightly damp", perhaps suggesting you shouldn't get it too wet. Don't
hose the place down then bring the mop through the way they clean up the
seafood counter at the grocery store.

The above applies to the glue-together classic Pergo. Maybe the no
mopping advice applies to the snap-together Pergo Presto. BTW, moping,
unlike mopping, may well damage the floor. <g>

Richard brings up a good point. Pergo, et al, will be destroyed by
water. The manufacturer even goes so far to recommend not moping. Clean
up is to be done by spraying a cleaner on the floor and wiping up
messes. Wood floors are forever. Water can be a problem but the floor
is not destroyed, it can always be repaired.

Good luck.
