| Hello,
I've just joined the list and am writing to introduce
myself. I'm Paul Williams of Ottawa, Canada. I just
took delivery of a '73 B V8 roadster. It was
transported by truck from deepest Alberta, then by
train to Toronto, and by truck again to Ottawa - about
3600km (2200 miles). It arrived in one piece!
The car was originally Harvest Gold with a blue
interior. It's painted green, now. Floors are good,
trunk and engine bay is good, sills are bad, front of
fenders are bad. Typical for an unrestored car, I
reckon.
The motor's out of an '80 SD1, formerly injected, but
now with Carter 600cfm 4bbl. Has block hugger headers
from the UK, so no holes in the car. Mallory
dual-point ignition. Trans tunnel pounded out to
accept trannie. 5-speed gearbox from Rover, with
stock MG rear.
What else? Huge scoop on the hood, fierce grille
treatment, front air dam - a real hot rod.
Starts great, runs great, sounds great. Can't wait to
drive it, but it's freezing here and the roads are
covered with salt and slush and ice.
I have another B, a '70, and a TR8. I'm hooked on
these cars!
Cheers, Paul
