All early MGs up through the MG TF for some odd ball reason have different
fasteners used on the engines, transmissions, and most suspension and driveline
components.  The threads on these fasteners are French metric while the bolt
heads are Whitworth/British Standard!

Then, of course there are BA ( British ?) threads and bolt sizes used in small
size applications at least up through the MGA, AND BSP (British Standard Pipe)
for pipe threads.  Look at the current Craftsman metric taps and dies and the
pipe threads are listed as BSP!!

I've been following this thread on Whitworth tools and have finally gotten
the nerve to ask just what is different between Whitworth sizes and standard
American sizes?  (ie)  I notice that the sizes are given as 5/16, 3/8, etc.
