When I lived in Orlando I had a '94 Mustang convertible. One day I lost
track of time & was driving with the top down at 3pm. It always rained from
3:00-3:15 when I was living down there & I got caught on the highway with
the top down. I just sped up & stayed nice & dry, until everyone started
slowing down :-( I had to come to a stop about 1/2 mile from an overpass &
put up the top.

Same story in NY in my Saab convertible, but I got up to the overpass where
a BMW & I stopped to put our roofs up. 4 miles later at our exit we both
dropped our tops & cruised through the mist, nice & dry.

Never been caught with my top down in the Datsun in the rain, just in the
snow. Snow doesn't really count though does it.

The caveat - if you can go fast, ignore the rain. If there's other traffic,
it's bath time. Good opportunity to clean your dashboard though. (Gotta
make Lemonade 'ya know!)
