I wish I could include a sound file to this question, but what could
produce a loud scraping noise in the engine? I removed the fan belt and
the noise is still there. So that would remove the water pump and the
alternator as potential sound producers. The sound is associated with
engine speed. My guess is a spun bearing, but I don't know what that
would sound like. I was planning to go the the ZONE meeting this
Sunday, but it is looking like I'll do it in the truck.
