This is what works best for me.

Things you need
Aircraft paint striper in aerosol
Chemical gloves
Stainless steel scrubbers

Spray area to be stripped with Aircraft paint stripper
Wait 15 minutes
Using chemical gloves scrub area to be stripped with stainless scrubbers
Clean off loosened paint with a rag
Repeat until area is bare metal
Then wash with clean water

I'm removing years of old paint (and some Bondo) in
preparation for some
body repair and repainting on my Roadster. Anyone have
better luck with
one type of paint stripper over another? I'm using Strip-X
and it seems
to do a pretty good, though messy, job, and it doesn't cost
a fortune
per gallon. Just thought I'd ask around if something works
better on
                automotive finishes.
