Just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the cost to rebuild an
early R16 engine (3-main). This would include the cost of parts: rings,
bearings, seals, etc. machine work such as valve work, etc. I have never
done this sort of thing before but I think it would be a good project for
this winter as I think my engine could use a rebuild.
I would also need to replace my second gear syncro and probably the first
syncro too in my tranny. Is this difficult or could a mechanically inclined
person do it alright?
I ask because I think I'll have to either rebuild or replace with a
different engine soon. Or drive it less (ya right!). I'll probably do
whatever is cheaper as I don't have a whole lot of money for this car. I
would like a bigger engine though. The R16 has some spunk but it just isn't
