Jim,

I have just finished a 65 TR4A with a Rover V8 and 5 speed. Details are on my
web site http://www.v8triumph.com
I went with a 3.5 from a PB with 10.5 to 1 compression, Later heads with the
bigger valves, Crowler cam, offy manifold and 500 CFM Edelbrock carb, block
hugger headers, Mallory and MSD ignition and block hugger headers. The
transmission is a BW T5 from a camaro and I am using a camaro clutch disk and
cover. This entire arrangement fits nicely, makes the car quite entertaining
and is a lot of fun to take to car shows. All British but very much a muscle
car too. And the best part is the aluminum V8 maintains the weight balance of
the original car so handling is as good or better than with the heavy 4
cylinder. Easy 200+ HP in a light weight package. My finished car with a full
tank of gas and me on board weighs 2180 pounds.

Let me know where you get stuck and I can probably help.

Dave Herr
