One of the advantages of a large barn is that, even when you fill it up
with valuable Triumphs and spares, it's big enough to hide almost
anything you care to put BEHIND it (as I found out when someone
complained to the Zoning people about all those cars out front, which in
itself was strange as I live next to a sawmill, with lots of equipment
lying about!). A similar complaint at my former residence (parents'
house) was taken care of by (on the advice of that town's Zoning Officer)
covering the offending vehicles with tarps and mentioning to anyone who
asked that they were wood piles (this during the energy crises of the 1970s).
Re: pits -- I had one in my parents' house quite by accident. An addition
to the house had covered over the drilled water well. Naturally, a short
time later, the pipes failed in the well. The addition, which was a
garage, gained a pit after the builder dug down to the well, replaced the
pipes, and lined the resulting hole in concrete for "future access to the
well." As it was a relatively small pit, much upper arm and shoulder
strength was developed pulling Heralds, Spitfires and TR3s over the pit!
I later worked for this builder, who built a new house for himself,
including -- yes -- a pit in his garage!

Does anyone know how one might go about dissolving the bond that holds a
multi-piece taillamp lens together -- specifically a Herald lens? Also,
is there a good adhesive for regluing such lenses? Superglue never seemed
to work for me with plastic lenses.
