When you sell your MGB roadster, i would be happy to sell you my BGT for oh say
$6K (gives you a nice$14K profit). My BGT is a '68 BRG with black interior. It
has an overdrive transmission, new brakes with rebuilt calipers. 15 inch center
lock alloy wheels with newish 195SR15 tyres. Newly rebushed & referbushed SUs,
new valve job with hardened intake an exhaust seats, unknown non-stock cam,
lightened rocker arms. Has Motoleta wood steering wheel, and center consul from
a 70's MGB (needed a place to rest my elbow & stash stuff)
Needs new suspension bushings, paint, and pushrods :*( has dings in both front
wings but rest of body ding free. slight surface rust where paint chipped but
nothing serious or structural (would classify as rust free California car)
Comes with new fuzzy seals, new door side pannels, factory manual, owner's
manual, & few misc MGB parts
I could use the $6K & get a nice pre-'66 TR4 with surry top. It would probably
get along with the TR3 better than the BGT does.
The BGT would go for $4K with the wire wheels instead of the center lock alloy
wheels. Or would consider trade for a 'driver' pre-66 TR4.
The BGT would give you room for your kids (for another year or so), LOTs more
baggage space (will hold a bale of hay with hatch open or Irish Wolfhound laying
down with hatch closed)
