Thanks to many for info re Healey glass. The Big hit the road last
weekend, minor oil leak and all, even though it was a bit chilly. But when
it came time to drop the (shiny new) top what do I find? - no bleeding
boot. The cunning sod whom I thought I had talked down to a bearable price
for bodywork restoration had kept it, and me all dewy eyed at the sight of
the Handsome Brute (the Big, that is, not the bodyworker) hadn't even
missed it, what with all the snow and that. So out with the Moss catalog,
Visa in hand, and before I know it I'm ordering all kinds of gear. Great
fun, and the kid won't need much by way of clothing now that summer is
coming. But what I really need is a way to "restore" without replacing the
scuffed interior vinyl door panels. One is actually cut (about three
inches, very neat, not ragged, more handywork by the bodyguy). Can one
stain vinyl scuffs? what about a nice black adhesive goop for the cut? I
really want to avoid replacing the damaged bits since new vinyl looks so -
well - new, if you know what I mean. Any advice greatfully received.
John Bradley.
