Greetings all:

A friend of mine is tracing out suspension problems in his bugeye sprite, and
has run into the following problem pulling a shock off his parts car -- two
of the bolts that hold the shock to the frame have galled (?) to the aluminum
body of the shock, resulting in one bolt head spun off with the bolt still
firmly holding shock to frame. Is there any clever way of getting the two to
part ways without munging the shock? Heat cycles? Kroil? Hammer induced
vibration? A clever puller arrangement? What should we avoid? The shock is
known to be good, and is the correct part number for bugeyes.

The bugeye has about 4 deg. positive (!) camber on the passenger side, and
it's starting to look like the frame is bent; the car is known to have been
hit, but on the other side. Any data on similar situations/solutions would
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Ernest Davis
