We've run the stock RX-8 (18x8 wheels) on both Buttonwillow (both directions)
and Thunderhill and I think, even with Dunlop SP Race tires, the 235/40x18
contact patch isn't enough. Not a scientific test but I actually preferred the
245/40x18 Falken RT-615s on Laguna Seca (after wearing off the mold release
compound and cleaning my shorts:^). We've maxed the front negative camber at
-.8 (w/ max caster) and set the rear to -1.8. Thing I couldn't figure out was
the 4 psi increase in the front tires while the back raised 6. I've ordered a
rear spoiler...

STU = 275s on 9.5 " wheels, decent shocks and linear springs would make the
RX-8 a lot more fun but put me in the dog house with the misses ;^)...

PS. Hate those cone calls but at least I know I'm guilty as charged .

He's still working on the car, and we've only run a couple of the
same events:

(They found a cone on my first run after the run group was over... grrr)

I thought that car would do really well in STU, but haven't really
talked to him about it.
