Yeah, well what Mazda should do if they are serious about a high performance
Miata, is to install their new 1.3 liter 250 hp normally aspirated rotary,
and provide a stripped "ACR" version of the car at say, 2250 lbs.

With the right gearing, such a car should 0-60 runs in the mid to high 4
second range with cornering & braking at least as good as the current Miata.
Corvette acceleration with Elise agility and Miata user-friendly
driveability.

Correct. There is a mistake in the specs.

If the engine makes 265 ft. lb. at 6,000, then that is 302 hp at 6,000.

And if the engine makes 200 hp. at 7,000, then that is 150 ft. lb. at
7,000.

So the published numbers are definitely incorrect.

My guess is that it is a simple typo and the actual torque is 165 @
6,000.
This would be 188 hp at 6,000, which would make 200 hp at 7,000 would
seem
    reasonable.
