1982 was the dark dark days, and the X11 rated at 135 HP was a big deal. i
was 18 when he got it and the wheel hop and torque steer scared the hell out
of my passengers on the (very) few occasions i drove it. mild until you
floored it, then it was like a turbo as all the emissions systems turned off
and the intake velocity got high enough for the cam and valves.

my dad did tell me he knows the X11 will lock the rears before the fronts.
i will tell him about the pad issue, thanks. IIRC, the brake system was
different on the X11 than the pedestrian versions of the chassis, which had
some serious brake engineering problems.

my dad also almost bought a cosworth vega... i remember seeing one parked at
his work. gold at first, but soon turned to rust. :P we got a chevette
instead (1976), but the rally version with a 4:11 rear end- redlined in top
gear at 85 MPH. :)
