I thought the rules committee was considering a 235 max since the V6 Camaros
came with 235/55R16 as an option in 1993 and standard in 2002. The 245's of
the Z28 came on the same wheel though. Even though I think there are more
popular 225 width tires, there are a few tires that come in a 235/40r17 or
235/45r17 that are popular among the target audience.
Sometimes I wish STS had an 8" wheel allowance. 7.5" wheels are not in as
abundance as 7" wheels, and as long as there's still the 225 max width
tires, it shouldn't cause a problem.
