Not entiely convinced about that. Look at it from bang for the buck say in SP:
Trailered cars, tow expeneses are the same, hotels/meals, no change. In some
case, yopu cant camp at Solo sites as can be done it race tracks. Competitive
SP cars are way more expensive when copared with their IT bretheren, and Solo,
at best for a $40 entry you may get 4 to 8 minutes of driver time. For $200 in
Racing, you can get 1.5 tp 4 hours of track time ina weekend, and In IT, to be
reasonably competitve, you won't buy a set of tires for each event.
My quick opinion only.
