If you are new to autocross I would take the advice of running on streets for
a while. If you decide to go with race tires I would try a set of Kumho
Victoracer's first. Their grip is good and they seem to withstand "trashing"
better than either G-forces or Hoosier's R compound tire.

I put G-forces's on my MR2 turbo when I bought the car. I was used to driving
FWD and it took me a while to learn to drive the car. Because I was sliding
the car so much and often spinning it , the rear tires wore out in about 24
runs. I am getting much better life now that I am driving the car correctly.

If the tires you choose are available in stock sizes I would stick with that
size. If you have to change tire sizes I would try and keep the ratio the
same. I think Brian Priebe is running Kumho 195's on the front and 205's on
the rear on his CS MR2. If you put bigger tires than stock on the front while
leaving the rears with stock size, without changing the chassis setup the car
will tend to be spin happy.

Good luck whatever you choose.

Shawn
