That's scary. What kind of shocks are you using? Do your bump stops actually
touch when and where they are supposed to? Is the other TA cracked in a
similar place? I tried putting in a shock in coil setup but didn't like it
that I'd have to add 3/4 inches of washers under the bump stop to keep from
punching out the TA where the shock and spring sit in the TA. I'm using my
old lever arms (rebuilt to heavy duty by Apple Hy) until I decide what a
better approach is. The ride is sure nicer than the tube shocks I had on
before. I may try them again but I'll weld some pieces to the bottom of the
crossmember to completely box it in and also make sure that the bump stop can
do its job as designed...I think they didn't touch at all when the tube shock
reached its limit and all the torque/twisting happened to the crossmember when
the brackets were mounted. The passenger side crossmember ripped out on my
trip to Valley Forge last year.

  Hi,

I was doing a normal pre-race check on the race car last night and found
cracks in both rear trailing arms.

I guess I need to deal with this:

I have to be honest, I haven't looked at that part since I installed the
trailing arms in the spring (I put in new nylatron bushings), but that
crack seems like it's been there a while. I must have not seen it while I
  was installing the bushings. Yikes.

  Opinions?

  regards,
  rml
