Thanks to all that responded. I will need to address this at some point. It 
seems like the right thing to do is to replace the shelf.  I do't have a 
donor car and I have never seen a donor that had the battery shelf intact. 
I guess that would mean the TRF replacement.  The other problem is that I do 
not know how to weld.  I suppose my next post should be - what kind of 
welder should I buy?
