        Absolutely. Also, don't forget he made his calculations with a
zero deck height, which is not the case for most of us. To get zero deck
height you need to deck your block approx 0.015". The deck height adds
another 1.7 cc by my calculation (probably wrong, but I try).
        If I assume that you have the std deck height (1.7cc) and use
Kastner's 3.7cc for the gasket, I come up with 9.44:1, very close to
what you originally thought. I think you are probably just fine.

Do you think Kastner was considering the extra 3.7cc volume when he
described 
"finished cylinder head with valves seated" = 41.6 cc  for a C.R. of
10.25:1? 
 My combustion chamber volumes are 44cc.  I figured (with stock bore)
that my 
C.R. was about 9.4:1.  If I add 3.7 ccs for the gasket, my ratio is 
significantly less than I thought. I didn't think he was adding in the
gasket volume.
