Richard,
Don't the early air filter housings have fittings on them for tubing. I
think I saw this in one of my manuals. Maybe it's for a TR250. I recall the
tubing went to a plate that mounted next to the radiator where the canister
is on later cars. This would get you colder air without moving the filters.
