Do you have a source for the one that you liked?

There are significant differences in quality and design between available
alloy valve covers. Some are lightweight, with poorly fitting oil filler
caps, and with very shallow "cooling fins". Others are more substantial
which reduces valve-train noise, have substantial (i.e. high) "cooling
fins", and do not leak oil around the oil filler. Some valve covers from
the UK are very substantial, and have an o-ring groove in the base which
means you can say goodbye to oil leaks and cork gaskets. You get what you
pay for.

I once owned a polished alloy valve cover from VB, which looked great, but
leaked and was not quite what I wanted. I eventually bought one of the
pricey UK units and am very pleased with that.

YMMV.

Rags update
-----------
At the risk of being lynched by TR250/TR5 owners, I rescued the hood from a
totaled TR250, cut out the "power bulge", and am grafting it onto the TR6
hood. I've cut off the front 4" of the bulge for an air intake system.
Pictures to appear on my web site in the next couple of weeks..
