You thought you TR6 had problems with ZS carbs. The '73 240Z Hitachi SU's (so
I've called them) had so many vacuum hoses that even the strongest British
stomach would turn. The earlier one's pre 72 were more like the simple SU's
like off of early Midgets. Pretty simple to tune, but every week or so. So I'd
say they were a pretty good copy! I still prefer SU's compared to ZS's, but I
learned SU's in high school, on my '60 Bugeye. No one else around new much
about them in the '80's. I had one guy believing the carbs were a high
performance turbo, with the heater intake Bugeye's had this wasn't to hard to
do.
I'll just have to see if I can gain bragging rights to the triple ZS setup
when I get the 6 on the road again.

that "Ztherapy" web site says they do "ball bearing" throttle shafts. Is
this something we should demand from our own Stromberg rebuilders?

I'm not an expert, but I believe they were labeled Hitachi. A very clever
copy of a Stromberg, which in itself was a copy in principle of the SU. Go
to www.ztherapy.com and see how well-liked they are.
