William,

I stand corrected and truly must have gotten up on the wrong side. I think
what jumped out at me is that generalization of messy garage, messy house,
dirty car... leave. I'm afraid that would have to describe me many times,
my friend most of the time and a well respected builder of TR3 and TR4 race
cars that I work with at times, some of the time.

Yes, this guy that Mark is dealing with "sounds" like someone to stay away
from. And what do we know about him? From the one side of the
conversation, written at that, we do make some judgments as to what he is
like. But what does it really tell us? That is part of your point, "Trust
your gut when you get there."

I'm sorry I don't know Mark any better, but a lot of what's in his gut is
what is his level of knowledge about the TR6 and knowing what he's looking
at. I know when I looked at my first one I didn't know squat. Mark, you
may be more knowledgeable than me and I apologize to you for make that
judgment. So, to sum it up, William gave sound advice. If something
doesn't feel right about the deal, the owner, or the car, beat a hasty
retreat. Find out as much as you can about the car, and if you need to and
can, leave it, come back to the list with your findings and see what falls
when you "shake the tree."

Again, I didn't mean to sound the way I did. Didn't mean to ruffle feathers
like I let mine ruffle. William, I apologize for jumping.

Good luck, Mark. Hope you find that TR6 to be a steal of a deal.

Dana
