I can't say that there is a "controversy". But I have some emotions about the DCOE's (side draft). If you are putting them on any 8 port Spitfire head, you should use two of them. If you examine the

The downdraft is a street carburetor, stock on many millions of 4 cylinder cars made throughout the late 20th century. It is a very streetable carburetor. Both the carburetor and the manifold it sets

Personally I really dislike the DGEV (downdraft) on my '77 MGB. I will be going to SU's sometime this summer. If you like to tinker and adjust it isn't very easy with a weber. Bill --Original Message
