Is there any alternative the the halogen pot lights that seem to last 6 months? It's a major expense to keep changing these at $6 a pop. I can see at least 10 dead bulbs from where I am sitting to ty

Many companies make excellent fluorescent lighting for growing your marijuana. Any good gardening store should have several to choose from. Enjoy!

Far out, man ;-) Just in case you meant puck lights - like for under-cabinet use - there are xenon bulbs available that they say put out about half the heat and last many times longer. A little more

I can't vouch for growing pot, but a buddy of mine did have good results growing a variety of other plants with metal halide lights. To the point that he was able to keep a citris tree alive indoors

Ok, I gather from all the marijuana references that maybe the term "pot light" isn't universal. ;> Let's try this again. My finished basement has a large area that is lit with recessed lighting. Each

You might just try buying a better brand of halogen bulb. Cheap bulbs often do not have proper fillament support. This is usually a problem when the bulb is subjected to vibration. Like from people w

Oh... Ok ;) Formally called "recessed lighting". I know I've heard colloquial terms to, but don't recall them. The bulbs here have a "P" or "PR" number depending on the size -- the most common medium

Hello Trevor, I had a similar problem, with the same bulbs and found a real problem was the 'pots' the lamps were in were placed so the vents were blocked and no air could circulate (there was also i

This is rather disturbing. All UL-certified cans must have a thermal breaker that will turn the light off if things get too hot. That fact that you saw charring around your cans suggests that either

That does seem a little short. Is it possible that your office is subjected to voltage surges? Then again, since it's an office environment, I'm assuming those lights are used 8-10 hours per day. If

My recollection is that the life rating of a bulb is that by this many hours you will still have half of your bulbs still working. It's not a guarantee of what you will get, sort of like the governme
