I have a "Don W Allen" Fuel cell in my Firebird (69) race car. It presently is in an open top well. The car was once destined as a street car, and I don't think the situation is right. It is a squar

First of all, if you have to buy a new cell call Speedway at 402 323 3200. They have standard size fuel cells at 1/3rd the price of the major mfg's. Second, Bill Dalton will likely reply. Do what he

Check its depth against that of a stock tank. You don't want to give up any ground clearance if you are going to do anything about lowering ride height.

Ground clearance is why I went with a more normal steel box cell (12 us gallons, I think) when I built the white Midget now run by Ron Watson. I wanted more ground clearance than the stock tank gave,

I don't think this would qualify as a fuel cell. A proper bladder/foam unit within a box might but one should check the appropriate GCRs. The latest Grassroots has an article that discusses fuel cell

I think you mean the foam _and bladder_, in which case, yes, this is the common way to mount the cell. Without the bladder, you wouldn't have much but a regular gas tank with some foam in it! But, as
