That is what I found. When I rebuilt my front suspension, I left the d-side on, so that I would have a reference point when rebuilding the p-side. I found that L was for left, R was for right. I seem

You're correct, the "R" and "L" refer to what you'll see if you've got the upper wishbone pieces oriented correctly, "R" on the right side and "L" on the left. The less curved a-arm piece (unmarked)
