- I have a 1979 Spitfire with a 1966 GT6 engine and the carb linkage is very . . . well, messed-up. Don't get me wrong it does work, but for how long? If anyone out there has ideas on how I can fix my

- The GT6 MkI's had a really funky carb linkage. Install the linkage from a 1969 or later GT6, they used a cable instead of the Rube Goldberg thing that was on the early ones. Dave /// spitfires@autox.

- Actually, I believe that might be 1971 or later GT6 (a.k.a. Mk3 model). My August 1969-built 1970 model GT6+ has the linkage with those *!%^#%@ plastic ball-end links. --Andy Mace /// spitfires@autox

- Oops, you may be right. I know my Mk3 has the cable. I have seen a MkI that was changed over so it should be an easy swap. @#$#$ originality. Dave Actually, I believe that might be 1971 or later GT6
