You're thinking of modern "you don't have to adjust" slaves. The Roadsters need to be adjusted manually. Take off the spring and see how much play there is in the clutch fork. I adjust mine with 1/8

Just a thought as it happened to me once. Check your slave cylinder. One of the bolts may have come where it bolts to the transmission. If it does, it'll swing out and push at an angle to the clutch

You should not keep the clutch in for extended time especially at traffic lights and such as it puts mucho strain on the springs of the diaphram and will cause premature clutch failure. BTW, my car
