Imagine if a basketball or football
promoter screwed around with TV
coverage the way that Bernie E. has.
Even if you do get TV coverage, you
will now only get in-car shots from
one car each race. Those other in-car
cameras are reserved for viewers who
have paid for Ernie's digital channel.
The guy is destroying the sport and
insulting the sport's loyal fans.
I'm not a Champ car fan, but I very much enjoyed
going to the free practice day at Long Beach
last year. You could go into the pits and see
the drivers and mechanics. It was a great treat
for us race fans. Bernie should learn something
from the Champ car series about how to treat its fans.

I'm glad that someone out there is able to see F1... Speedvision/Fox
Sports
Net or whatever is unavailable in my area (Cedarburg, WI). Haven't seen
one
race yet this year.
Ironically, Time Warner provides cable service to Milwaukee and Cedarburg
(18 mi. north of Milwaukee), but it only shows the F1 races in Milwaukee!
What's the deal with that?
A phone call (22 min. on hold) yielded the explanation that market
strategy
hasn't been fully developed for all subsidiary cable systems, and a review
of future needs in various areas will be conducted next year.
Yeah, right. I should have asked her if she knew what 'cold turkey'
withdrawal was really like...
Still jilted in WI,
GS

Good morning, to all of those who contacted me regarding TV coverage of
the Brazilian Grand Prix--thanks for your help and information. I am
from the Seattle area. Our TV guide said one thing, the sports section
of the newspaper said another, and the Fox Northwest web site did not
even have it listed on their TV programing guide instead listing an
"infomercial" at the time when the Grand Prix coverage actually
occurred. GO FIGURE! I thought perhaps Bernie had pulled the plug on
FOX like he did last year (with no warning) on ESPN 2. Anyway, it was
on here, and I enjoyed it. I am not Brazilian but I was sure cheering
for Rubins! Dick
