I presume you are referring to the tapered shaft end of the tie Rod?  To rem=
ove the tie rod end you are best served buy buying a Tie Rod End Separator, e=
asily obtainable at your FLAPS.( also handy for self-defense)

It is a forked wedge that slips right on top of the ball joint, sometimes a f=
ew well place taps, sometime a significant whack will get the job done. =20
