It has threads on the other end, right? And the nut is stuck because of rusty
threads? Put two nuts on the other end and lock them together. When you get
the stuck one off, unlock the two on the other end. Of course, one of them
might stick. So lock together two nuts on the first end. Repeat procedure.
Repeat procedure. Repeat procedure. Eventually you might be able to get them
all off. Or you could hold the stud with vice grips, using lots of padding to
avoid further damage to the threads. Or you could go buy a new stud.
