A number of weeks ago I posted a comment about the Repco brand semi-metalic
brake pads that I installed on my TR6 and how happy I was with them.
I know that they came from Moss cause they still had the part number sticker on
them, but it may have been several years ago.
Now that I've got the 4 up and running again, I went to redo the front brakes
and ordered some new rotors and semi-metalic pads from Moss motors.
The new pads are very different.
Plain brown box, friction pad is riveted to the cad plated backing plate. The
friction material is closer to clay brown rather than charcoal grey.
Okay . .so what. . I'll try them out.
When I put everything together, I found that the new pads don't fit properly.
Either the pin holes are drilled too low or the friction material is riveted
too high. Either way the very top portion of the pads are clamping down on
nothing but air. It is as if they were meant for a disc rotor that is 1/4"
bigger diameter.
Anyone else had similar experience with ill fitting pads?
