The question was, "Can a new pressure plate be out of balance?"

The answer is, "HELL, YES!"

I have a borg&beck three finger on my '62 TR. When I rebuilt the
motor, I balanced all the reciprocating mass at a good machine shop.

He balanced the flywheel to zero with no problem, and then bolted on the
pressure plate to balance it as well.

The pressure plate, which was a 'new' rebuilt unit was so grossly out of
balance that the guy had to tack a little counter-balance on it.

I've regretted putting that thing on the car, but I was gung-ho to get the
car running and, well, you know how it is......

Anyway, don't assume a rebuilt unit is balanced.

The front fan hub and original 4-blade steel\aluminum fan can contribute
to vibration as well, BTW.
